SENED Visit – Learning About Democracy
Last week, our pupils had the exciting opportunity to visit the SENEDD (Welsh Parliament) as part of their learning about democracy, citizenship and the role of government in Wales. Pupils explored the public viewing gallery overlooking the debating chamber, giving them a real sense of how decisions are discussed and made on behalf of the people of Wales.
During the visit, pupils learned about how Members of the Senedd represent their communities, how laws are created, and why it is important for everyone’s voice to be heard. This experience helped pupils deepen their understanding of participation and decision‑making, linking strongly to UNCRC Article 12 – the right of every child to express their views.
Our pupils asked thoughtful questions, showed great curiosity, and represented our school with pride. It was a memorable visit that brought their classroom learning to life in a meaningful way.
