Residential Care for Young People
At Greenfields, we provide care and support for children and young people aged 8 to 18, who have experienced significant trauma and attachment difficulties due to Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). These early life challenges can severely impact their ability to form secure relationships, regulate emotions, and cope with life’s demands, often leading to behaviours that reflect their unmet needs and inner pain.
Many of the young people in our care come from troubled family backgrounds, with histories of placement instability, and present with a range of complex behaviours.
These behaviours are typically responses to their traumatic experiences and are further complicated by difficulties in emotional regulation, cognitive processing, and limited self-awareness. At Greenfields, we understand that these young people require not only love and acceptance but also consistent support tailored to their individual needs.
To meet these needs effectively, we implement the STEP Framework™, which guides our care approach through the three stages of a young person’s journey: Stabilisation, Strengthening, and Transition. This framework allows us to offer structured and sensitive interventions that evolve with the young person’s developmental progress. All homes offer a non-judgemental, warm and nurturing environment and our multicultural staff teams are highly motivated, well trained and supported by managers who are qualified social work professionals with extensive experience in residential childcare.
Our daily therapeutic work is influenced by our team of qualified psychotherapists, art therapists and clinical psychologist, all of whom are available to the young people and our staff team for individual consultation.
We are able to provide:
- Specialist clinical assessments
- Individual behavioural support programmes
- Psychotherapy and psychology support
- Enhanced and complex risk assessments
- Psychological and integrated psychotherapist support
