Welcome to Greenfields school. We are an independent day school that caters for a range of needs within the spectrum of behavioural, emotional and social difficulties in key stages 2, 3, 4 and 5. We offer a safe place and a fresh start, in addition to effective learning support, in order for our pupils to thrive and flourish into their lives as young adults.
Every pupil deserves to be understood on both personal and learning levels and our staff are compassionate and empathetic towards these needs as well as supporting the pupils and challenging hem to grow further. For many pupils, their school journey has been inconsistent, interrupted and generally a negative experience. Our determined, dedicated and passionate staff team foster positive working relationships with the pupils based on mutual respect and promote a love for learning.
Our curriculum is underpinned by the Curriculum for Wales and enables all pupils to experience learning across the full curriculum. However, we also recognise that this might need to look different for each individual. As such, we support the pupils to build confidence, self-esteem and robust skills across the curriculum through a variety of exciting and practical learning experiences in our wonderful school grounds. Health & wellbeing is an important part of the curriculum and underpins everything that we do in order to support the pupils to build resilience, determination and positive learning behaviours. This supported them to transition into the next stage of their lives after Greenfields school.
At Greenfields, I have high expectations of all staff to deliver exemplary learning activities to all pupils. Additionally, we all have high expectations of our pupils but also celebrate smaller steps of success along the way. Part of our important work is in working alongside parents, carers and other stakeholders to ensure that learning experiences are of a consistent high quality and that we support the pupils to live happy, healthy lives.
